Beginnings in New York
Supreme was founded in 1994 in New York by James Jebbia . Originally a small multi-brand store, it gradually evolved into the iconic brand we know today. Originally from England, James worked in a Duracell battery factory in his youth. At the age of 18, he decided to make a change and moved to New York. Here he opened the Union store, which mainly sold British brands. When he started selling the brand Stüssy , his business began to grow rapidly. Later he decided to open his own skate shop called Supreme.
Unique sales concept
From the very beginning, the store had a limited range of goods, which created interest among young people. The goods sold so quickly that James came up with the idea of releasing new clothing collections every Thursday.
